One year later...

Ginny, William, and Sally sat on the couch in the living room, the lights twinkling merrily on the tree and the fire crackling in the fireplace. On the mantle, there were four stockings instead of three.

Ginny looked down at the baby in William's arms. Nicholas was a fat baby, his eyes icy blue and his cheeks red as cherries. He looked every inch his father's son.

"I'm so happy," William said. "This is perfect."

"Yes," she nodded. "It is."

Pride and joy glowed in William's eyes. She had decided shortly after Nicholas was born that they should have another one. She vowed to have sex with William tonight, one of the few times she had allowed him to enter her since the baby had arrived.

But she wasn't thinking of William as she looked at her baby. She was thinking of the letter she had written earlier this week. A letter to Santa asking for another baby. After she had written the letter, she had thrown it onto the fire, something telling her that the act of writing it had been enough. She knew Santa would get it, and her body tingled with excitement.

Poor William, she thought. He has no idea what's going to happen tonight.

"Merry Christmas, Ginny." William said and kissed her cheek.

"Merry Christmas, William," she smiled and stared at the fire, barely able to wait until the children were asleep. "Merry Christmas."
